About Tom
Tom Knox began his insurance career in 1993, building a technical foundation in underwriting before moving into SME and international corporate insurance broking.
He founded Business Insurance Specialists Pty Ltd in 2003 and continues to lead the firm with a clear philosophy: the client is the purpose of our work.
With more than 30 years of industry experience, Tom has worked with business owners, directors and senior executives to arrange insurance for complex commercial risks across a broad range of industries. His experience spans major insurance market cycles and changes in the Australian regulatory landscape.
Today, Tom’s focus is on leading the business, setting its strategic direction and supporting his team in delivering personal service and quality outcomes for clients.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) and a Diploma of Insurance Broking. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), a Qualified Professional Insurance Broker (QPIB) and a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).
